I attended this year’s German Rock & Pop Awards with four nominations. Yesterday the award ceremony took place at the Siegerlandhalle (event centre) in Siegen. The pleasant result was: 3rd place in the category “Best Instrumental Album 2014” (for my second solo album The Human Factor). 1st place in the categories “Best Instrumental Soloist 2014”, “Best Jazz Rock Album 2014” (The Human Factor) and “Best Guitarist 2014”!!
The German Rock & Pop Awards have been the most important newcomer awards in the field of popular music in Germany for 20 years. German artists, bands and acts
like, for example, Pur, Juli, Mundstuhl, Yvonne Catterfeld, Pasquale Aleardi or Luxuslärm have received awards here and used this prize to jump-start their careers.
The band Univerve, with whom I have been working with since 2006, received an award there in 2007 as Best Progressive Rock Band (2nd place). I was presented with two 1st place awards in the categories Best Instrumental Soloist and Best Jazz Rock Album (Unification, my first solo album) in 2012.
